چکیده
The occurrence and spreading of multidrug resistance in bacterial pathogens represent one the greatest challenges 21st century. With fewer new antibiotics development, novel unconventional concepts drug development formulation need to be explored overcome global crisis. Biomedical nanotechnology offers promising strategies for reformulation established such a way that they regain their activity against resistant pathogens. Herein, developments aimed at synthesis potent nanoparticle-based formulations glycopeptide are reviewed. While as vancomycin teicoplanin widely used drugs last resort Gram-positive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), these is spreading. However, inhibiting cell wall via binding precursor peptidoglycans, exhibit unique mode action renders them particularly candidates with ability antibiotic resistance. different based on multivalent presentation encapsulation introduced, conjugation discussed, an attempt made rationalize effects antibacterial resulting nanoparticle formulations.

Occurrence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci and its relationship to the administration of glycopeptide antibiotics (vancomycin, teicoplanin) was described. A total number of 628 strains of the genus Enterococcus was isolated in the Hemato-oncologic Department of the University Hospital in Olomouc in 1997. Seven strains (1.1%) were found to be resistant to vancomycin. Five of them were identi...
متن کاملOld and New Glycopeptide Antibiotics: Action and Resistance
Glycopeptides are considered antibiotics of last resort for the treatment of life-threatening infections caused by relevant Gram-positive human pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus spp. and Clostridium difficile. The emergence of glycopeptide-resistant clinical isolates, first among enterococci and then in staphylococci, has prompted research for second generation glycopeptide...

A total of 124 marine actinomycetes were isolated from east and west coastal regions of Indian peninsula and assessed for its antimicrobial activity. A potent actinomycete isolated from west coast of India was selected by its antibacterial and antifungal activities and was identified as Streptomyces fradiae BW2-7 using 16S rRNA sequencing which produces antibacterial metabolite extracellularly ...
متن کاملResistance to Bacterial Pathogens in Plants
To successfully infect a plant, pathogens must overcome three layers of defense: (1) preformedphysical barriers; (2) a cell-surface-based surveillance system that detects conserved pathogenmolecules and (3) an intracellular surveillance system that detects effector proteins injected into host cells. Bacterial plant pathogens overcome the first layer either by invading through natural openings a...
